Books with Dark Fantasy and set in hell?

I really like Doom and Quake envirement settings, i know there Video Games but i really like the Dark Fantasy setting with evil creatures and settings and other beings that seem to be out of H.P lovecrafts books.Also like Dooms setting with its setting in hell and terrible creatures,and really cool envirement.Dantes Inferno seems like a story i would like with its setting and exploration of hell, but its written like in a poem, what books are like this but more modern.
